All very nice and elegant, except for new logo in the top right corner of the screen, which resembles that of M-Net Series, but is far too bright and has an unnecessary dark blue border. Viewers tune in to watch a movie – not the channel ID outshining the movie. MM1 and MM2 got it right, so why should M-Net Stars merely imitate M-Net Series with a slipshod logo?
The original M-Net Stars logo was also too bright at the outset, until (after complaining fruitlessly in the old forum) I eventually spoke per telephone to a senior official at M-Net, who adjusted the logo to an acceptable level of brightness and transparency within minutes. Do I have to go through this unnecessary procedure again? It is bad enough that we still have to contend with those irritating “13” age restriction keys throughout most movies, while M-Net takes its time finding a solution. Please, M-Net Stars, enhance your attractive new look by dimming the logo and making it completely transparent, in line with the other movie channels. A reply from the channel would be appreciated. Thank you.

Agree with everything you said. I think the logo is a tad bigger too.
Please return the old DOG, or something even smaller. |

Hey Dennis - response from M-Net Stars is as follows:
Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention it will be fixed immediately - with the imaging being new we are discovering little niggles that we are doing our best to fix. Of course the imaging should never compete with the movie and we will fix it accordingly as a matter of urgency. Quote:

Thank you for the prompt response, Kerry and M-Net Stars. You have adjusted the logo in accordance with my request (for which I am grateful) but I still feel that you should lose the blue background, although it is part of your new emblem as shown between movies.
I must agree with ABII that the old logo was preferable, but thanks again for your efforts.

Last night (Wednesday) the logo was back to its original brightness. Did someone in the control centre not get the message? I suggest that M-Stars looks at the logos of channels such as Sony (113), C & I (255) or even Vuzu (123) to see what a dimmed white logo looks like.
I enjoy the movies on M-Net Stars, but the channel is rapidly driving me away.

Hi,
Here are examples of the old logo and the new logo. The old logo I actually took a shot of it against a dark background, and you can still see it stands out very subtly. The new logo ... the words are the brightest thing on the screen! It was taken off the channel 30 minutes ago. Also, look how much bigger the new logo is! Also, can it not be moved further into the corner? Please adjust as soon as you can. This along with the 13 age restriction info is chowing up a lot of screen real estate. |

Denis - I just wonder if the Universal Channel's Logo will be OK - maybe we should put in our complaints now before the channel arrives on the 24th

Excellent! M-Net Stars has finally got it right! Tonight I was able to watch “Witness” without being distracted by that large, bright lettering. The age restriction key was also removed after 5 minutes, as promised. Please keep it this way – and you won’t be hearing any further complaints from me!
@ ABII – Thanks for your support. “A picture speaks a thousand words”, so I think that your shots of the old and new logos worked admirably in demonstrating the problem and leading to its solution. @ LesleyH – Yes, that thought has already crossed my mind! The best thing about Hallmark is its elegant, unobtrusive logo, so I can already picture the bright, white Universal symbol and lettering. Hallmark is controlled by MCA (as proved by the local age restriction keys which no other overseas channels carry) so MCA will also no doubt also be responsible for inserting the Universal logo. You can be sure that I will jump on them immediately if the logo is distracting – as long as you support me!
