Default 2 decoders in a single view environment?

Probably a dumb question but hey, I'm old and don't know how these things work.

Is it possible to have 2 PVR decoders, via XtraView, feeding to 1 TV?

I have a single well equipped viewing environment, no possibility of a second environment and live alone anyway, plus have no desire to watch TV on any mobile or micro-device.

I don't want to give up the essential "record 2" power of my 4P HDPVR, I seldom watch anything live. However, the Explora has obvious advantages I could use, such as more than 20 Series recording slots and now Showmax.

So, I'd just like to sit in my armchair, feet up, and operate the system via my remotes as I do now.

Most TVs have more than one HDMI input so yes, no problem.

Going through the TV's ports would scupper my home theatre sound but.... Went onto an AVR forum; apparently I can input multiple "set-top-boxes" through any free HDMI inputs on the AVR, so this is looking good so far.

Yep, there's not a lot more to it.

I presume you'll call in an installer. Your old setup is no good for future "hi band" channels anyway, recommend you get supplied with a Smart LNB (SLNB). The rest is straight forward and simple enough for any competent installer, nothing additional needed and they will now be discarding the old MultiSwitch.

BTW, your "4P" is not actually called that by MC, as we discovered later. To avoid confusion we now call it a Pace 4T (tuner) or similar.

Sorry should have read your signature. I also have multiple HDMI sources switched with my Denon. So what ever inputs you have free will work.

Xtraview requires a bit more work.

cheers
