Default Game of Thrones not 5.1 DD

Game of Thrones on CatchUp does not have a 5.1 DD Soundtrack but only a 2.0 DD Soundtrack. It's a good thing that I recorded the episode as my recording has a 5.1 DD Soundtrack. What I cannot understand is why there is a difference between the Broadcast version and the CatchUp version.

Different departments. And different video and audio files.

Why is it different I have no idea

Due to rights complications the files are sourced separately. Seems crazy practically, but that's how it works.

What bothers me is the continuous repetitive pattern with too many of these errors which suggests a lack of worthy longer term effort, and which is why I now prefer to mention it just once (when bothered enough).
Improvements aside, MC needs to pull its collective thumb out quite a bit more re QA. Then I'll increase my efforts.

Very disappointing indeed! I also had to switch over to my recording to enjoy it the way it was meant to be. Let's hope it get's the treatment it deserves for the remainder of the episodes!

I thought that MC had already agreed to stop advertising 2.0 content as DDD (sic)?

Did the catchup version advertise this incorrectly?

There is no on-screen notice or announcement on CU. In the synopsis it has the standard/usual DDD WS logo.

It was agreed that they wouldn't put DDD (sic) into the synopsis (or anywhere) if it's not 5.1 channel sound.

It was a dark and stormy night.
(But because his installation was sound, his DStv reception was perfect.)

This caused much consternation as I went through my set-up to see if maybe my settings had changed. Unfortunately I didn't record it due to a conflict and I was relying on the CU version. I find it unacceptable that MC are quite happy to take your money for a premium service yet often fail to deliver

I recall the discussion (and feel the same way) but I don't remember MC actually committing to that? I think that was just the recommendation?
