IF you want to then I would suggest you get the Explora 2 to be the Primary and the two older decoders to be set to secondary when you activate it all.

Make sure the Unicable connection on the decoder side is on the correct diplexer port! The switch requires power from the decoders to work, hence why it is supposed to be a DC pass port.

Explora 2 has amplification on the lnb port used for uniview and thus is recommended as the primary to overcome loss through the cables and diplexers, the explora 1 doesnt have amplification and can be affected by bad cable or connectors, thus losing the heart beat. Where possible always make the primary an explora 2 unless your running covential heart beats via RF in or RF out than it wont make a difference as there is no amplification on the RF ports

So I have purchased the attached diplexer. Would the cable from the smart switch run on the power pass side(red line) and the RF OUT through the black line?

Explora 1: The LHs of the picture port goes to the LNB port on the decoder. The botom RH port with DC pass marked with a Red line goes to the cable from the SLNB. The port at the top RHS of the picture goes to the RF IN/RF OUT port on the Explora 1.

Not quite correct, see your modified attachment

On the 5U/5S, the RF OUT is the XV decoder RF OUT port
