Point of story this won't happen with Gotham. It will return either. End May or beginning June.
Gotham is a slightly different situation. Supernatural went on the standard December/January break, and its return from that break was what was originally announced to be August but we got it sooner.
If a similar thing had happened with Gotham then it wouldn't be so bad, but it was cut off at a point that wasn't a natural break. Gotham has had two such points this season - after Episode 11 (the December/January break) and after Episode 14 (splitting the season in two, and the second half only starts in April). Either of those would have been an appropriate place to break for us, but it couldn't happen because they made the ridiculous decision to put it during Arrow's mid-season break, which was never going to to 11 weeks.
Then to compound the poor scheduling decisions, we were told that it would return on the 4th of May, which as I've pointed out was unrealistic. Just promising May would have been a bit better, as if I can establish so easily that the claimed date was unrealistic then why couldn't people whose job it is to plan these things do so?
