Default Sky Sports News?

I notice Blitz is not crossing to Sky Sports News at 6pm tonight as it usually does. Is there a reason for this?

More concerning is that I looked ahead in the schedule and can't find any more Sky Sports News hours on Blitz over the next few days. Please tell me this isn't a permanent move, I watch it every day and would be very disappointed if someone has decided to axe this. It's been a bad enough year with some of my favourite channels disappearing.

No need for alarm. It will return soon.
Sky Sports News in the UK airs different content in the 6pm slot over the Christmas season (usually documentaries or "Soccer Special" which is not a news show at all but is an odd show to watch) and will return to normal soon after.

Ah, ok thanks. Panic over I guess. I checked tomorrow morning and lunchtime on the EPG and there was no listing then either so I feared the worst.

Actually remember watching Soccer Special when I lived in the UK, found it quite bizarre at first with a studio of characters like Paul Merson watching tvs and describing the action, but it could be surprisingly entertaining when on in the background.

I myself find it strange to watch but can't bring myself to change the channel when it's on

Sky Sports News took a break for the Christmas period. The programme is now back on air.

I miss the early days of Sky Sports News on SuperSport - particularly the occasions when for long periods, instead of the studio audio, we would get audio from the production suite, with staff chatting about their lunch, or whatever.

A bit like our SA cricket broadcasts over the last year or two
