Default Mars

After todays premier of Mars, what is your thought? For me there is nothing really for me to come back for unlike Cosmos.

I wasn't blown away but it wasn't bad - I will keep watching - at least one more episode but probably the entire series.

After all the hullabaloo that was made about it, it was kinda of an anti-climax.

It's like being a Star Wars fan, you have to sit thru Phantom Menace + Clone Wars in order to understand the whole series later on.

My wife commented to me that it seems like one big advert for Elon Musk and SpaceX and fast forwarded through the 'documentary' parts and only watched the 'story' bits.

I wasn't impressed after all the build-up as it felt like I'm watching a B-movie

I'm also enjoying it, just a few scenes that shouldn't have been as drawn out as they were IMO but that's not unusual.
The theory suggested on the forum (started by @Sankie) for those who aren't sure about a series is to give it a go for 2 or 3 episodes before deciding.

For those who missed the other thread re it being in HD - all episodes will be available from CU+ in HD.

I enjoyed it, although I do see how the hybrid of documentary and drama might not work for some people. And the format they've chosen means that there's limited time for character development, which could be another problem, especially considering that this is only six episodes long.
