Default Storms Over Gauteng?

What no one in JHB posting about the storms over us? The one that has now hit us in PTA is quite heavy, with plenty of rain lightning and wind.

Yep, was quite heavy here too. But calmed down quickly, so decided to walk to the shops... then it hit hard again!
Quiet as a mouse now

[18:13] Sandton Weatherman here!
Massive electrical storm over Randburg at the moment
Huge Fork Lightning to ground every couple of seconds!
Expect signal disruption.

[EDIT 18:30] It's still hanging around and pretty scary.
Moving very slowly north-west.
Masses of heavy very rain too.

Cheers, K.

Gathering again now and still plenty of disruption!
Lightning and thunder as bad as it was an hour ago.
And still raining pretty hard.
This is probably the biggest storm of the season.
Cheers, K.

I don't recall the electrical part of any Jo'burg storm ever going on so long, still rumbling away constantly in the distance. The channel I was watching acted like it had the hiccups

Finally pretty-much over; though there is still some thunder and lightning rumbling away in the distance.

[EDIT] A good mate of mine measured 80mm of rain on Sunday evening, in Riverclub; just up the road from here.

Cheers, K.

I'd hate to be working in the JHB insurance admin department this morning.
