I have also had these issues and I swear it's a conspiracy to make us upgrade to the Explorer 2!
I really don't want to as it doesn't have the recording time that I want.
I also have the issue that I get the message saying that there is a signal loss due to bad weather etc on my Explorer, yet I can watch the same channel on my HD PVR without an issue!!

By the way ... I get that same error at least once a week on all 3 exploras.. One being an explora2A. In my case reboot(s) only resolves it.. Call centre useless in helping with this problem... End solution from them is to reboot (sometimes up to 3times)..����
