At least LM Radio is available on SES5 FTA...
"recently"? e-TV has always been available to all packages, and, depending on the decoder used, the HD version of the channel is available by default.

It didn't work with Select originally Geoff, MC made adjustments after a request from Jack and others.

Jack, them having made it work in HD is not the same thing as adding another channel.
And I have to seriously wonder if MC would make any such changes again if you then try hold them to that, I'm not sure they were obliged to.

We know that the Select packages still make sense for some of you, but I think you should consider adding EasyView @ just R29 p/m on a spare cheapie decoder, would give you a window to quite a bit more extra of the basic stuff than just LM Radio.

EasyView is R29 a month, not R39.

The only reason for sticking with Select2 is Kyknet on channels 144 & 146.

Cheapest current package that includes Kyknet is DStv Extra at R459pm....

The need for the KykNet channels to be higher valued was explained in a thread a while back, expensive production costs and the like.
Your still having a choice to get it cheaper is a great advantage that others can not have Jack, but you can't have your cake and eat it.

I understand the arguments around expensive production costs etc. in relation to Kyknet, but if Afrikaans is truly viewed as a marginalised language group and culture in this country, the likes of Christo Wiese, Koos Bekker, Johan Rupert etc. should not be shy to contribute some of their billions to airing of Kyknet on ALL DStv channels free of charge!

At the moment, Kyknet channels are seen by MC/DSTv/News24 as a cash cow for their shareholders, and only a select few can afford to watch it. Kyknet should divorce itself from DStv/MC and become available as a mix of free and subscription channels on its own platform.

Hopefully (eventually) digital terrestrial TV will open up more opportunities for more Afrikaans productions to be aired more affordably.
