To stretch the point, I'm back to give you guys a "goodbye" present

This was apparently stitched together using staggered photos, presumably mostly time delayed.
I wonder how they got the clouds to cooperatively keep still. Maybe a bit of photoshop unrealism in that.

And for those of us less positively entertained

----------------

Finally, some news for those who know Jo'burg's north-eastern suburbs fairly well - a few days ago The Dollhouse closed down!!
Sign of the times...
(Was a roadhouse on Louis Botha ave. that everyone knew since my parents' generation were teenagers.)

I didn’t know the dollhouse was this old.

I thought it started in the 50s

Thanks for the link JP. I also didn't realise it was that old.

Plenty of us old fossils... (and no shortage of young people at them either).

A developer has bought the last remaining true roadhouse in Johannesburg...
I don't think that's quite true, last I knew there was one near the N3 in Linksfield / Bedfordview, and another at the foot of the Ponte building's hill in Berea (not an area we visit anymore ).

And there definitely is one in Krugersdorp, I ate there a couple of weeks ago

That article is full of nonsense as well though.

I was a visitor at the Dollhouse often and for many years, never saw one of those fights on the premises and that even though I went to the adjoining school where those endlessly
bickering Italian / Portuguese / Lebanese groups went as well (one of them is my "step-brother" ).

And organised drag races at 3am?? I was often up with friends and never saw anything more than a few of the widely typical one-on-one unorganised races

Certainly never saw any racial disharmony either
Typical press....
