The addition of three more HD channels means that customers on the DStv EasyView package will now have access to three HD channels, DStv Access customers will have seven, DStv Family 12, DStv Compact 21, DStv Extra 26 and DStv Premium 41.
Premium is actually 42, I think they forgot to include the main 198 SuperSport Overflow channel.
And when the 109 pop-up movie channel returns it will be 43

We did not forget - we don't included these in our counting as they are not permanent channels.

Understood, thanks. Though as 198 (or equivalent) does reappear quite regularly maybe it should be counted, after all it's similar to how M-Binge works.
Semantics of a sort... probably doesn't really matter, and perhaps MC's count is more practical

MultiChoice wasting bandwith with these channels. There's better HD contents that these repeat channels...

@Toto - to understand channel positioning, just look at all the packages it is offered on. That means the content is targeted to fill a viewing gap for those packages (starting from the lower ones). So as a Premium customer, it might not feel like value to you as you see that on other channels. Not the same for customers on other packages.

I can appreciate that MoM but we have been holding on far too long for some international channels widely available in HD around the world to be upgraded in HD yet we were told that technical constraints were the cause now it's getting filled with non-starters. Some of those international channels are available on lower bouquets such as CNN, SkyNews, BBC, NAT GEO to name but a few...so why not look into those?
