Ok, just checked (by simply removing the smartcard) - all new eTV channels are coded for SA and Lesotho only.
Sorry @Tulani & co.

Still nothing on my Explora yet.
I won't be here to add anything more.

Looked at the schedules and some of these channels are quite good for what they are.
Especially the kids channel. It has the kind of show one used to expect from Disney XD before that channel went a certain direction.

So after much messing around just after midnight, where for a while, EasyView package holders could receive all 4 on the SD PVR, it settled down to only 195 and 311.

Of course all TBR settings had to be fixed after this again.

The UEC HD PVR 4 tuner also experienced a period of instability, but has now settled down this morning with only 195 and 311 accessible on the EasyView package.

These channels, except for the kiddie one, were all working on my 2P decoder last night. This was around 11pm. Cannot say from when they were available.

Channels seem to be alright but I too am not too sure about how good the movies being shown on them are going to be. We do get to see most of the latest stuff on the M-Net platform. The movies on these new channels don't seem to be the mainstream types? Still there should be an audience out there for these movies as well.

Time will tell.

Can anyone advise whether these new channels will have adverts during their shows? Especially the movies?

Thanks

Yep, they're FTA channels on other new systems therefore designed to make main income from ads so there always will be.
We've been recording our first movie from 140, surprisingly only one single-ad break so far after a "long" 25 min. which is a lot better that the old 194.

If anyone with a HD PVR is having problems getting these channels, see this thread: ETV Extra
