Default 119: SS-GB (new)

New series starting 17 May at 8pm.

SS-GB is a 2017 British drama series, 5 episodes, based on the 1978 novel of the same name by Len Deighton. A British homicide detective investigates a murder in a German-occupied England in a parallel universe where the Nazis won World War II.

It'll be interesting to see if we have the same "sound problems" that created such a fuss in the UK when this was transmitted.

Thanks for the heads up.

MC, can you check whether sound was sorted before the series starts?

Sounds very similar to man in the high castle. Where Germany won WWII and America is German and Japanese owned

Hope there's repeats of the episodes during the week. This show clashes with the other new one you told us about. Little Boy Blue on Channel 123.

Funny you should mention that, reviews on imdb.com were discussing just that point - not at all similar except for the Nazi win aspect. Some found this series better than the other one. Just moans about the audio issues which includes some believing the actors weren't making enough effort to pronounce clearly.

Set in London and with a similar core premise as MITHC (but without the parallel universe). However nowhere near as good; unfortunately.
Prepare to be disappointed with SS-GB (particularly the weak ending) and look out for the excellent MITHC, Season 3
TIP -- MITHC very complex plot with lots of twists. Really worth binge watching.
(Personal opinion, of course)
Cheers, K.
