Thanks so much. I hope it stays fixed too It's only for computer users (as my Explora isn't connected to the net) but perhaps some other users are in the same boat.

I won't be making a recommendation, no fibre experience, as yet...

Only have but happy enough with ADSL 2Mbps "uncapped" from MWEB.
(Has a shaping threshold but that hasn't been a concern with our low video-type usage.)
They've improved, and are the unknown parent company of many smaller ISP's last I knew and I believe best to keep close to the source.

We all mostly rely on Telkom's efforts though, which have been sorely lacking for months but maybe starting to move forward now. Some believe it's therefore best to use them as an ISP as well, couldn't agree less as I doubt they give as good individual service as MWEB is in my experience.

My ISP is MWEB and last week I got an apology email about the Seacom Cable affecting services; frankly I've noticed NO degradation!

I'd recently posted on the "Slow Download Speed" thread that I've been using Showmax a lot over the last few days in HD and I've not seen a single "spinner"; far better than previous experience with the service.

I just did a couple of Speed tests to London and am averaging around 18.5 Mbps down (out of 20) and nearly 2 up (out of 2).

So, no complaints at all at the moment!
Cheers, K.

It has not been resolved yet - the M-Web home page has a message saying"

As at 10:00am on Monday (17th of April): SEACOM are still indicating that it could take between 3-6 weeks to repair the cable break. We have managed to secure some additional bandwidth for our peak period and we expect this to come on line during the course of this week.

I'm also with M-Web and have not really had issues. My 100Mbps fibre is averaging between 70 and 80 Mbps most of the time.
