Ok I'm stumped, why channel 261? Great news for the Extra and Compact subscribers, wonder if they'll notice.

Not normally much of a follower of boxing; but this match is a must watch!

I can now see it on the EPG of Channel 261 with the build-up starting from 21:30. Nothing showing yet on 251.

I can only assume that part of the MC deal with Kwese, in respect of the broadcast of this fight, is that MC does NOT advertise it loudly as part of its SS content; but rather places it quietly on two channels aimed predominantly at the African community. Soweto and KZN. Who knows? But Thanks MC in any case.

[EDIT] PS See errors in EPG screen shot -- clearly done in a hurry!
  • Anthony Joshua is British (Olympic gold medalist 2012), not Nigerian!
  • The Fight is at Wembley Stadium, not Twickenham!

Cheers, K.

I made a mistake earlier (on the off chance anyone is still reading this), forgot daylight saving has started in the UK so 10pm there is 11pm here... they're coming out now, enjoy the fight guys.

Wow. So glad we got to watch that. Thanks for broadcasting it here.

(Would have liked to hear the remainder of the post-fight interviews but that is a minor quibble, just happy we didn't miss out on one of the most memorable fights in years)

Agreed! What an amazing fight!
Would loved to have been in the crowd at Wembley. It's a terrific stadium. Cheers K

It's silly to be thanking Multichoice for this as it had nothing to do with them. The community broadcasters entered into the agreement with Kwese Free Sports, the holder of the rights, themselves and it just so happens that these community broadcasters are shown on MC. If multichoice were involved, they could have shown it on one the Supersport channels that have separate feeds for SA only like SS5 to keep it for Premium viewers only.

Give credit where credit is due, and that is to the community broadcasters and definitely not MC in this situation.
Also reach out to the community broadcasters to show interest in the boxing as they already saying they open to showing it in future again.

Thanks for pointing this out, I thought those were also MC channels for some reason but it all makes sense now.
