Default Macgyver

The reboot of Macgyver doesn't live up to the expectations of the original TV series in my opinion. Without spoiling it much for others, all I can say is a lot of things have happened since 1992, the genre of a know it all guy who uses gadgets to get out of a fix is over saturated now.

To put things into perspective, they have made 5 impossible missions to date each one coming out with even more spectacular and more dazzling techo-gizmo stuff and even bigger outlandish totally unbelievable storylines. I think they should have rested the legend.

They have to keep up with the times don't they?

They can't make a program in modern times set in the 80s with 80s stuff nobody will watch it. As they say the past is in the past. You can't live in the past

People tv&movies has to adapt

As far as reboots go, Lethal Weapon & 12 Monkeys (season 1) pay good homage to original premise. Any car movie/series has to live up to the bar set by the Fast franchise, it's just how it is and a huge reason they should never have rebooted Knight Rider.

Yes lethal weapon is very fun to watch. Like 12 monkeys too
Yip the remake of knight rider was very painful (however I think 2001 was way too early for a reboot attempt)

Well, there is room for a reboot. There aren't many lifeguard tv series out there.

I'm afraid that If this movie is a popular hit in cinema's that people will try and make it last longer. Either with more movies or a new series.

Baywatch apparently is so anticipated that (universal studios) postponed the new Terminator movie in favour or Baywatch

Yes very true there is room and availability but will it be wise. Is the world ready for a life guard show/movie again. A lot has happened since the 90s. And we live in a Trump world now

I suppose the only way to tell is to see the ratings when the movie comes out in May/June
