Talking Mail Message Spam...the saga continues (Part 3)

Ah here we are again, my monthly post to MC.

Please see:
http://forum.dstv.com/showthread.php?t=15950 (1month ago)
http://forum.dstv.com/showthread.php...t=mail+message (3months ago)

Another 25th of the month and I still receive 3 of the exact same messages on screen. THIS IS SPAM! I want to opt-out of receiving these messages, please provide an opt-out option.

Please don't reply with promises unless you really mean it. So far they have meant nothing.

I will continue with these posts to show all people the quality of customer service they can expect.
In short, don't expect any.

I can confirm that I received another 4 messages this month too!

Opt out = cancel subscription

Payment reminders are not marketing

Spam is unsolicited marketing and hard to track people

Hi gwalker

Please read my previous posts. I don't have a problem with getting mail messages. My problem is that I get 3 of the exact same messages. Everybody else would get 1 message, but I get 3.

I've been asking for this to be looked at for months now and I feel that if they can't fix it, they must just not send me any messages at all. Thus the request to opt-out.

Except, this is not a "payment reminder". I have paid already, in full, for a month in advance. This is a request for me to pay for another month.

See the link I included a few posts back. All I ask is the ability to opt out of this as is quite clearly provided for in the law!

There is cancellation notice period and payment needs to be received by date. Law has common sense too. Think this is a stretch IMHO.

4 mail messages per decoder all received within 5 min period?

Really not needed at all.

In my case I do not have debit order in place so one could argue MC is justified in sending me the reminder, but I do not need 8 of them for one account, all received within a 5 minute window.

For those that do have a debit order in place (controlled by MC) it is clearly a massive intrusion and completely unneccessary.

For those that have already paid when they receive the mails, it is an insult.

Hi,

We have implemented the opt out option on our database, and logged a request to exclude customer's who have opted out from these messages. Will follow up on this as a matter of urgency.
