Default USB Ports

Does anyone know what the USB ports on the decoders are for. I end u just using them to charge my phone.

Think it's used currently by support if they require you to dump a logfile to send to them, or something like that. Not the ability to extend storage like we all hope for and useful to power the DStv Wifi adapter of course ....

I get its not for extending storage, but if what you are saying about support is true, dont you find it odd that they advertise multiple USB ports?

So better they built a decoder with one USB port and the money for that they would have have used for the extra ports build in wifi in the dang thing!

Folks there is a plan for those ports. And we will be launching something in July that uses one of those. Remember we design decoders with the future in mind, so even is something is not used now does not mean it will not be useful in future.

Ok, that's is too funny.

The USB port was introduced on the SDPVR in 2005 (That's 12 years ago) ....

But, it's really useful for a USB powered fan to cool the cabinet in which the decoder is housed.
