Would you like me to explain? There is deeper meaning there that the comic book geeks would pick up.

Well then I guess its time to dust off The Husband's comic books.
But overall a great movie.

No need. Let this geek do the work for you

It's the setup for spin-off movie coming in 2016 involving "The Sinister Six". Peppered throughout the movie are clues about the villains that make up the various iterations of the Sinister Six - Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Green Goblin, Rhino,The Lizard....And some more obscure references, either to Scorpion or The Chameleon and maybe even Kraven the Hunter and Venom.

That's what the whole "guy in the hat" sequence was about. Rhino (at the end) was the start of him getting his team together.

Looks like the movie selection is improving again and earlier than expected, but I suppose that's a matter of taste.
These titles still coming look good to us;

Sex Tape
Grand Piano
7500
The Snowpiercer

It's just a pity that a couple of the recent better titles IMHO, The Rover, and in particular Predestination, again seem not to have been destined for the SD / HD boxes, hoping for a later appearance when space may permit.

Recommendations (best first):

Lucy (far better than the description given)
The Giver
Tammy

Agreed, Brian; Sandy and I both recently watched this movie on Emirates ICE ( best entertainment in the Sky! ) and we both thoroughly enjoyed it!
You need to be a bit of a Sci-Fi buff, I guess; but certainly worth a watch IMHO!

Nothing else really grabs me at the moment, so looking for recommendations. Anyone?
Cheers, K.

'Beware' of "As Above, So Below" - described as a Thriller / Suspense it is that, but more a Horror !!

Have to say it's one of the better horrors I've seen , but if you're claustrophobic, uh-uh!

Enjoyed the thrillers "Good People" and "The November Man".

"Million Dollar Arm" isn't for everyone, but a nice feel good human story based on fact if the sports angle doesn't bother you.

"The Maze Runner" - Looks like an interesting new sci-fi angle, a young cast but the theme isn't.

Thanks; We'll give that a go this evening!
Any recommendations for British movies?

Waiting for some new releases on the big screen and was hoping to discuss here, as the "Lounge" thread, which is the logical place to discuss movies, has alienated a few people, including me; so have unsubscribed.
  • Ex Machina really looking forward to this movie -- releases 20-March, Amazing pre-release reviews for a sci-fi movie
  • Jupiter Ascending (IMAX 3D ) Releases Friday -- booked for Saturday May take the Gautrain to Hatfield and then Uber, as Gautrain bus does not appear to go near the Grove; transport ideas anyone?
  • The Theory of Everthing - releases 27 Feb. Oscar contender and great reviews
Cheers, K.
