And I'm not sure why what I've posted doesn't make sense to you...

I suggest have a look again at the confusion early on in this thread, and the multiple steps required, that aren't intuitive or user friendly, to sort it out.
We've had to post this kind of help many times for the Explora.

My software alteration idea is primarily based on making it easier for the user. It was never this difficult on older decoders, perhaps someone remembers (or has recent experience) and can post the details of how that worked on the more recent models before the Explora.

Please post more if still unclear.

I have only been involved in 2 Explora installations to date. I both cases, the decoders would respond to all 3 modes, even though only one was set as (Active) Mode 1.
The first install had me confused. On the second I specifically looked out for it.
