The setup is much easier on the new USB one. It feels more like having Wifi built into the Explora than what the old connector via Ethernet cable was. Also much faster if you need to change which Wifi you want to connect to or to change WiFi settings/passwords.

So what is the progress regarding the launch of "something" that will be using a USB port. Some feedback would be appreciated

Hi guys.

This can't be it.
The previous wifi connector also used an usb port for power.

We are still waiting for the promised service.

Can somebody from MC confirm.

Thank you.

Johann

This one does more than just use it for power - and operates differently on-screen. The moment you plug it in the Explora operates almost as if it has built-in WiFi.

With the previous connector you had to set it up separately to work with a specific WiFi - and then connect it to your Explora. This one comes up with a list of all available wiFi networks on your TV screen (just like your phone would when connecting to wifi) and you can choose - and easily change - wifi networks, enter the password etc.
