Default Explora + HD PVR (Pace)

Hi all,

I currently have an Explora (primary) and DSD 1110 on ExtraView. I would like to replace the DSD 1110 with a HD PVR (Pace) and use on ExtraView. I have a 80cm dish and SMART LNB. I currently run a cable from Unicable (A) to Explora and a cable from Universal (1) to DSD 1110. The heartbeat cable is also in place.

Do I need additional cabling for the HD PVR, and what are the required settings for the installation?

Thanks for all the advise given.

All you will have to do is switch the LNB cable from the universal port to Unicable port B. You can still use the current heart beat cable . You can also use a HDMI cable to the TV if the TV is compatible.

There's a few other steps after what Jan posted.

The new Unicable connection is connected to the HD PVR's LNB 1 input.
The LNB setting in its menu will now be for "SATCR Universal" (used for Unicable).
User Band indexes and their frequencies must change so that combined none are the same on the two decoders. Your one Explora booklet gives the details, else see post #3 in this thread: Smart LNB (SLNB) installations and settings

If you have further questions, please mention if the HD PVR is the older one that can record two channels at once, or the newer "2P".

Thank you for the help. I will setup as advised. Prior to starting the thread, I contacted MC. I was advised to run two cables from Unicable ports (B & C) to the HD PVR

It is the older HD PVR which record two channels at once.

If you know the agent's name I suggest a PM to MC Field Services or MC Kenneth so they can re-eductate.

Forgot to mention - before you disconnect the 1110, have the Call Centre break that old XV (XtraView) connection or headaches can develop.

when My Explora - HD PVR 2P extra view setup was done MC recommended that the users bands on the HD PVR be kept at the default values and the explora user bands changed to the values as shown on my screen shot

You guys did see this is the 4 tuner, not the 2P ? Will it not require a switch ? Or at least an extra cable for the 2nd tuner ?

Yes the default user bands on the 4 tuners is 0,1,2, and 3 the Explora should be set to use 4,5 and 6

My question was more about the single cable for a 4 tuner...
