Just flogging a dead horse here but the (very old) "latest" season 5 of Pointless comes to an end today - to be followed by (you guessed it) and immediate repeat of season 5 yet again from Monday. so this means 3 months (and very likely longer) of repeat programming on the channel every weeknight between 19H00 and 20H00.

On a side note, please ask the channel why certain episodes are not shown at all? Every now and again one can see an episode was skipped (based on the jackpot & contestants) - season 5 had 60 episodes but we got a total of 53. I suspect it might have something to do with a specific question and/or answers in these skipped episodes (for some reason) but would appreciate some clarity.

I know it is POINTLESS going on about this since neither MC nor the channel gives a damn, but now that we have finished with 2 back to back transmissions of season 5 I see we are back to season 4 AGAIN for the umpteenth time. The UK is now on season 18.

Sure is some riveting prime time viewing this channel is offering to its viewers every single weekday from 19h00 to 20h00.

Don't bother asking the channel to comment as I am really tired of hearing how they want to give viewers that missed the previous 50 repeats another chance to see it. I won't carry on any further regarding this - topic now closed from my side - the evaluation of the channel is clearly an epic fail.

So I nearly suffered a heart-attack seeing Season SIXTEEN, episode 1 scheduled for tonight - - but it is clearly a mistake (and the season recording with it) and it should actually be season SIX - as next week it carries on with season SIX episodes 2 to 6.

Having said they, we have not seen season six yet so it is actually "new" (for us) - although it is ancient in reality. Almost can't believe a big fuss was not being made about the "new" content after all the previous complaints.

For those who haven't seen my response in the other thread, tonight's episode is now set to 6 (which is the correct number). For those reading this, please set a series recording for season 6 on your PVR to ensure you get all the episodes. Our sincere apologies for this error.

A lot of recent mistakes like this, presumed due to the still faulty data aggregator again.
Hope by now plans are underway for everything to be manually monitored in the interim.

Just as a matter of interest, season 6 was the 1st to be recorded in HD in the UK - shows how far behind we are on the program. They even upgraded their set for this "new" thing called HD and had a couple of HD references in the episode.

May well be a mistake, there's been other issues with falsely changing seasons with MC's "data aggregator" for the EPG - suggest you record them somehow anyway.
I'm sure they'll respond by Monday.

Here is the response from the BBC:
Due to unforeseen licencing issues we have had to postpone the broadcast of Pointless series six on BBC Brit. We are working to resolve the situation and hope to air the rest of the series in due course. In the meantime, series six has been replaced in the schedules with episodes from series five.
