Default Cricket World Cup

SuperSport offer wall-to-wall World Cup coverage

SuperSport viewers are set for a treat with all 49 ICC Cricket World Cup matches to be broadcast live on the World of Champions.
SuperSport will be giving the tournament unprecedented coverage, with a daily show, plus highlights and match repeats.
Moreover, select matches will be broadcast in High Definition, while games featuring the Proteas will have dual Afrikaans commentary.
As an endorsement of SuperSport’s cricket coverage, both Pommie Mbangwa and Robin Jackman have been included in the world commentary team. While Kepler Wessels and Shaun Pollock were also invited, both opted instead to work for SuperSport. They join an illustrious team of analysts that includes Kepler Wessels, Shaun Pollock, Paul Adams, HD Ackerman, Ashwell Prince, Makhaya Ntini, Alviro Petersen, Neil McKenzie, Victor Mpitsang, Jeremy Fredericks, Shafiek Abrahams, Mluleki Nkala (Zimbabwe) and Kenyan roving reporter Kennedy Otieno.
Between them they have earned 813 ODI Caps, scored 10 446 ODI runs, picked up 703 ODI wickets and nabbed 270 catches.
Mike Haysman will be travelling from his base in the US to host the bulk of the SuperSport studio discussions.
In addition to the tournament coverage, SuperSport will have three reporting teams with one each in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
SuperSport will also broadcast two of the forthcoming World Cup warmups:
Saturday, February 13: India vs Australia (SS6, 10.45am-7pm).
Wednesday, February 16: India vs New Zealand (SS6, 10.45am-7pm).

Is there a list available of which games will be in HD? Also just curious why we dont rather get the SA vs Aus warmup game instead of the two warmup games mentioned?

I guess they don't broadcast/send it from India.

Thanks. That only covers the next 14 days though. It would be nice to have a schedule showing only the World Cups games together with the channel(s) each game will be on.

@MC Sandile - Grateful thanks to you & the team - just what we needed, and it was a really fast response considering the detail !

I'm just curious though as to what's meant by 'SS2A' and 'SS6A' referenced throughout the list. Such channels currently don't exist on the IS7 satellite, and last I had a look at the W7 set-up they weren't included there either.
I'm sure subscribers from beyond South Africa in particular would appreciate some clarity on this.

Those should be for Africa though in my parts (IS7 ROA)we get only SS3A and SS5A instead. It’s a way of screening us from the prime viewing that you in SA would get on SS3 as opposed to SS3A. They always argue it’s a broadcast rights thing. e.g. That SS3 will show on the grid but is blocked and we can only view the "refined" SS3A.

Yes the "A" part of those channels' names says it must be for ROA, but on W7 their version of SS2 and SS6 are simply called SS2 and SS6, so maybe they are already an alternative ROA version but MC doesn't bother to name them differently.
To add to any confusion; their SS3 and SS5 ARE called SS3A and SS5A.

I've seen through the years that there's only a very occasional difference between content on SS5 and SS5A. I've never seen a difference myself between the SS3 and SS3A versions.
I would think that advertising plays a major part in what differences there are.

Drifting a bit off topic for a moment (sorry MC) - program rights are very odd sometimes... take the fact that in Namibia on Premium they get M-Net AND M-Net Africa (confirmed)!

BTW Tulani, I've been wondering if it may be clearer & easier to rather only refer to W7 areas of Africa as ROA and rather refer to "IS7 ROA" as ROSA instead.
