Cleared up now - the EPG entry still includes the Jane Fonda info etc., with the date now changed to 1977.

For some reason the last few movies on the last day weren't included in the list we got, so here's another copy of what's left plus those others added;

(I haven't checked if there are any other omissions.)

If anyone watches the movie Cabaret it has, for me, and I don't know why, one of the most hair raising moments that I've ever experienced in a movie. And I've seen thousands of them. This happens when the main characters stop at a roadside cafe and a young person begins to sing. Seen this movie about four or five times, yes I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others, and every time that scene has the same effect on me. Maybe it's the realisation of what was to come? Excellent movie.

Yep, that's a memorable scene. Always enjoyed Cabaret, interesting mix of music, lighthearted moments... and a deepening darkness. Time to set the PVR.

For today the 21st February, From Here To Eternity was pretty good when first released. Not sure how well it's aged. Another film being shown is the Robert Redford movie Ordinary People. (Not to be confused with another film of the same name.) A human drama story which won the Academy Award for Best Picture for 1980 and marked the directorial debut of Robert Redford. Recommended for those who like dramas.

I must end by saying that the logo could not be gotten used to - ended up recording as little as possible here and won't be keeping anything long term.

I would like to remind all involved in this business of the official response we finally got years ago, after a very intense effort. Have to ask why is it believed that anything has, or ever will change???
Please don't presume a tired silence to ever suggest otherwise. Please keep it real
The following posted by a Mod at the time sums it up well;

Quote:
As Patricia [the CEO at M-Net] promised, M-Net will play around with some aspects of the logo including opacity and size. Similar to the widescreen roll-out, they will do so one channel at a time, starting with M-Net and M-Net HD. They will be monitoring your feedback on here during this time. I will also be sending them your feedback on the new look and feel.

M-Net has listened to your feedback and the results of the research and are doing something about the logos. However, I seriously doubt that they will change the positioning of the logos - the only thing they are adjusting is the size and the opacity. I think 2 out of 3 for the forumites is a good outcome...

Agreed. Initially I was just glad it wasn't bright purple like the BucketList one and thought I'd replace a couple of the BucketList recordings, then I saw it in a darker scene (the iconic part of All the President's Men where Deep Throat is passing on information in the underground parking lot) - and just switched it off and deleted the recording.

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse with all these complaints about the logo, with zero response or hope of change, so doubt I'll return to the subject. It's a bit sad as features like the BucketList and Oscars channels were great ideas and made us feel happy to be premium subscribers again, but they were ruined for no good reason. Now I know I may as well avoid the movie popups in future, at least when it comes to my favourite classic movies. If I can't get them on regular channels I'll just have to wait to get the Bluray or something.

MNET - Take note of these concerns. PLEASE!!! Fortunately, for myself, I have most of the movies that I want to watch on dvd already so I can always watch them when I want to and without this RIDICULOUS logo of yours. However, there are the odd movie or two which I'd like to watch but refuse to do so while you display the logos as you do.

May I please ask what Mnet's code is when it comes to service delivery? Is it to entertain it's subscribers or to aggravate them? Although only a small minority may take to the media to complain I think that the majority are in agreement that they can do without this stupid OSCAR/BUCKET LIST logo of yours.

I CHALLENGE MNET TO KINDLY ADVISE HERE OF THE REASON(S) FOR DISPLAYING THIS MNET OSCAR LOGO AS YOU ARE DOING!!

Although too late for the Oscar Pop-Up screenings perhaps something will be done for future Pop-Up offerings?

BB, please don't use such huge lettering again - it may hurt the M-Net Group staff's eyes!!
