So far I'm sitting with around 18 movies that I think could make the top ten. This without looking seriously at any of the more recent movies which I still want to do. Will need to do some further research and try not to let my prejudices for "older" movies without all the special effects get in the way.

Anyone else trying to guess at what the top ten will be?

Pretty sure the likes of Sound of Music and Titanic will be in there... my tastes lean more towards the likes of Godfather and Blade Runner so it's nice that we have a top 100 (+bonus older movies) to keep most of us happy

The promo pic currently on 109 shows Braveheart, didn't see that above so that's my guess for the top 10

My wish is to see Silence of the Lambs again, good chance of top 10.

Not forgetting The Shawshank Redemption which, to be honest, I never found to be all that great, but it's one which seems to have found favour with lots of film critics.

Sound of Music and Forest Gump also should be in there somewhere along with Schindler's List.

Some others I've come up with are Godfather II, Apocolypse Now, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, The Searchers, The Wild Bunch, Taxi Driver, The Good The Bad And The Ugly, Titanic, Indiana Jones, Rocky, Lion King, Silence of The Lambs and Gladiator. Oh, and now after reading Doug_Dread's post perhaps we can add Braveheart to this list.

If the "pundits" are from an earlier era then 12 Angry Men needs to be added along with the Alfred Hitchcock classic Vertigo. (not one of my all time favourites of his but it does seem to have it's followers).

To those films making the top 100 I'd have added Midnight Cowboy, The Graduate, The Mission, The French Connection, Chinatown........don't remember seeing those on the list. But then again we all have our own favourites.

Noticed they do have Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark) at 15... great call on Chinatown, really love that movie, one of my all time favourites.

Really hope it's in the top 10 so I can watch it again (and allocate a permanent spot on the HD for it)

Is there a chance MC can turn down the volume on this channel 109 until broadcasting starts?
Everytime I flick over it, my speakers jump out of the tv...
TIA

It's not that straight-forward - I've since seen one movie that repeats the next night, but it does look like they all repeat.

Haven't watched the Exorcist or Rocky Horror Picture Show in many years, can see I'm going to really enjoy this channel (and stock up the Explora hard drive)
