Default Dodgy Smart LNBs

Explora 1 installed July 2016. Around June this year, signal quality dropped, often to 1%. After a lot of messing about, a new (smaller) LNB was fitted. The supplier, Space TV in Woodstock, declined to swop the original, instead referring me to MC. Various promises to honour a guarantee came to naught

The new LNB initially provided a signal quality of 75%. Two weeks back, after some rain, this dropped to 0%. Installer said LNB was full of water! Exchanged this at Space TV no problem

Space TV said "many" of the original style LNBs were returned and about 10% of the newer ones

Yes I have found 3 SLNBs full of water. As all of them are still covered by a warranty I suggested the owner take them in for a swop. I am itching to get hold of one that I can strip to see what is the problem.

The SLNBs all belong to others and have all been returned under warranty.

Are there now two versions of the LMX501 around?
I have not even tried to speculate on how the water is getting into the LNBs, as I did not want to mess around with others' warranty claims. If they were my own I would have not hesitated for one second.

I think he could well have just left the posted message and moved on, he's done it before. Maybe if he's sent a PM it will reach his email.
