Default Heartbeat new Explora 2A decoder, LNB, RF out & RF in.

Does the new Explora 2A Decoder transmit heartbeat from
RF in
RF out
and LNB
or just LNB
If all three, how do I select in the software which port I want to use for the heartbeat, or does it transmit from all three ports simultaneously?

Same question with regard receiving heart beat.

Thanks
David

If you are using a Smart LNB (SLNB) then you don't have to do anything with two(?) 2A Exploras, the heartbeat (HB) will work automatically via the SLNB.

With a universal LNB you can use any of the port combinations, and just need to set the Primary Explora's port choice in Settings \ System Settings \ Remote Control - set the RF Transmit port.
You would need a quad or quatro LNB though to be future proof and so be able to supply all 4 inputs on the then used Explora Switch (don't try to use the old version 5-1 switch as it's too unreliable).
A SATCR LNB may work, but is now proving too problematic at times.

I can't assist further.

(Where are other helping Forumites?? Not rocket science and the regular helpers can't be expected to help everyone... please.)

As far as we can tell, HB is transmitted/received on SLNB, RF IN and RF OUT ports, no settings to select the port required.

Both RF IN and RF OUT automatically transmit hearbeat.

But there's an option to combine the heartbeat with the signal using a duplex (combiner) and the output of it will go to LNB. So the LNB will recieve the signal with heartbeat as input.

Great, so that menu setting on the Primary Explora is no longer needed and can be ignored. Thanks for this info Mpho.

explora 2 does not use an external diplexer . it's built in to the decoder.
you only use an external diplexer for all other Decoders .
explora 2 allows the heartbeat to be transmitted on all 3 ports at the same time . RF in and RF out and Lnb port .

again remember that using diplexers it's recommended not to exceed 20m
