Another problem with the titling with "NEW:" idea, in case they consider trying that again - it could lead to problems with alphabetical sorting of titles.

Thanks Simon. The issue is not the content. There is a technical issue that happens when this is added to the title.
Also there are all sorts of character limitations and the EPG had to work across a number of different decoder types. So while these things might look simple from the outside, it is not straight forward at all.
Suffice it to say there is work being done on various levels to enhance the experience for you.

Actually, it is easy. A beginner programmer can write scripts that look at a database and produce different outputs depending on the target.
There should be one centralised database with fields that are populated correctly. These then get output accordingly.
For example, NEW could be a field in the central database. The output would be a text field added to the end of the decoder EPG description (checking against field size limitations). It could be added to the end of the title field on the online guide in brackets and as an icon on the app.
But, I'm sure the guys telling you that it can't be done are the same ones who say they can't add SD to the DSTV Now App throughput description.

"NEW" hasn't been removed everywhere yet.
My scheduled recording on the Explora for this afternoon's ch. 120 QI S15E01 still uses it, and so does the associated SBR setting.
It is corrected on the EPG's listing for the time slot.
Hope this won't cause any confusion...

I have the same thing with QI. I even deleted the series recording, rebooted the decoder and reset the series recording but it still comes up with NEW on my Series Calendar and my scheduled recordings - even though the EPG no longer shows it.

I see it's raising its ugly head again.
First, I don't know what "NEW" means.
Second, why not make it a tag at the END of the title? Better yet, make it a tag IN the EPG.

Not only is it back, it is now being used with brand new series such as next week's Nowhere Boys on M-Nut.

Folks this is something we are trialling - it needs to be obvious when you scroll around channels so had to be in the title. Does not impact your recordings or should not, which is one of the aspects being checked.
New means just that - new and not seen before.

It does impact on Sorting though when it is at the beginning of the title - if one makes use of that.
