It has always been used for logs and by MC though. I think the July thing will be something for us plebs.

Why expect the worst, I'm hoping it will be some sort of external storage option (but remember I'm an optimist so maybe not that good )

If this were the case then, in typical fashion, MC would be about a decade behind as the rest of the world moves to Cloud Based DVR.

Fast charging your phone is being optimistic. But I hope it be something like being able to transfer your recordings yourself. Big reason why I can't upgrade my secondary PVR

Agreed Simon, but as you know my philosophy is better late than never. What choice?

@Rockforus2 - StarSat (aka Top TV) has come out with such a decoder (of sorts) recently, maybe MC are following in their footsteps... but highly doubt transfers would be involved.

I think theirs allow you to record to an external device (the decoder itself has no HDD) - but then you can only play it back via the same decoder (copyright issues) - but I speak under correction.

Correct, there's an article on MyBB etc. about it.
Not going to post the link as this is MC's turf ;-)

Thanks for the reminder but just comparing products, I don't think they mind as there's nothing genuine in S.A. that's thorough enough to compare to them

Anyway, just one thought. Could be anything, like the ability to copy our scheduled recordings list.
Any other ideas?
