What about for smart phones and tablets? Ay useful ideas anyone? It treid to block some issitation ads over the weekend on my tablet but al I could find was an app that works with a very specific Intenet viewer, which is not installed/won't install on my tablet

I got a fright when I one day scanned my "clean" laptop (or so I thought, being a IT manager, you play it careful ...

No antivirus catches everything

Avast reported all clear, and nod had alarm bells ringing, once nod said all clear, I ran malware anti bytes , and cr@ped myself...

For android , the avast is very good, and free

Has anti theft measures as well

Couldn't agree more. I've had up to 4 packages doing their thing on one PC, each finding something small on occasion.
And then, as you've probably also experienced Ivan, one gets the false positives... then try get the company who makes it to take notice of you

But for a reasonable level of protection one of the popular options mentioned here is good enough. (But not all anti-malware products include actual anti-virus protection.)
Other than that Eurica & co., all you can do is hope your computer carries on behav@#^567

For home use, nod32 is great, but you still need anti malware

Corp use.. I hate to say it symantic end point is awesome

Very scared now. Apparently monsters are running rampant in my pc and after listening to the testimony today, I might never set foot in Gauteng again. Sounds horribly dangerous up there!
