Default The New Generation of Techno Savvy Kids

The new Generation of Techno Savvy Kids in SA

Have a look at the link below to see what the kids in SA are doing at school level and then think what sort of pressure they are going to put on current corporations delivering "services" in SA.

http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/ftc/game.

In another similar competition, also run by the First NGO,just below 200 teams in SA competed last year.

The link is www.fllsa.org

A colleague at the Meraka Institute is involved in supervising teams that enter these competitions in the PTA area.

I'm one of them. I started getting into tech from age 7, specially from age 12 (10 years ago), when technology really started exploding into something exciting.

I'm studying for B.Com Management Marketing and every subject of my course there is a section to do with technology in business these days. Like computers, internet and social media specially.

I was dragged along to a student art show with the significant other a few months ago, and i was amazed by some of the really awesome art that incorperated arduino or raspberry pi microcontrollers and some pretty nifty circuits. all done by students who have never studied electronics or programming.
