*sigh* But I suppose you've got the right attitude BB, got to learn to roll with the punches even when it gets this ridiculous

Although I was a bit, a BIT? flippant regarding this "banking" scam that Optimist is experiencing this isn't really a laughing matter. These people have no scruples and don't bother who it is that they can take money from. Unfortunately, most times it's the person whose in such financial difficulty that they fall for these scams simply because they are desperate for some sort of help.
These scammers are despicable low life's and should be dealt with in a most serious manner when they get caught.
If something sounds too good to be true then it more than likely isn't something good.
I follow the advice that has been given time and time again which is to never give any banking details to anyone via email or over the telephone. Likewise when entering surveys, competitions etc.
Good luck Optimist

Thanks BB.
In this case it really was the bank (also considered to be thieves at times ), but agree re the caution we should all take and that was the main reason for posting this issue.

Perhaps a bit late for some but here's wishing all and sundry a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and A PROSPEROUS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. May you be blessed over this festive season with lots of goodwill and happiness.
To those who do not celebrate Christmas may you nevertheless also have a wonderful time over this period.
For those on the road please PLEASE take care and may your trips be full of only good things.
Best wishes to you all and once again a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has assisted me in any way whatsoever over the past twelve months. All I can promise you is that I will no doubt be calling on you for some more help in the new year.
Thanks again and now go and enjoy yourselves.

Compliments of the season from my side as well. Being with the kids in Beetle Bailey's neck of the woods we are learning to live with very little water. I must say it is amazing to see that we can manage to use less than 180l a day for a house hold of seven. My first shower back in the land of plenty will be a looong one.

Jan, I hope you ran outdoors with your towel and had a wash in the most welcome couple of drops of rain that we having on old year's night? Do your bit to save our dwindling water reserves by not having a bath/shower but doing so in one of the downpours instead. Remember every little drop helps. Besides you can stand in the rain for as long as you like.

Yes the few drops were most welcome and some did run out to get a taste but at my age it was allover before I could get out of my chair.
When we came down here I thought that the restriction of 87.5l per person per day was unreachable and bearing in mind that we were more doubling the inhabitants we were convinced that we were going to exceed the limit set by the Cape town municipality.
I am very proud to say that we average 29.9 l per day per person which is well below the allowance set.

May I which you all a happy and prosperous 2018
