Default Explora API

Hi folks,

I posed this question 4 years ago and it seems that this hasn't changed.

When can we expect to see IP control with a suitable API on the Explora for home automation systems, etc?

For instance, the home theatre receivers one buys nowadays, not to mention set-top boxes in the USA all have IP control and an API.

As usual, MC doesn't seem to care about stuff like this. Sad really. It shows the lack of innovation over the past few years as the Explora hasn't changed whatsoever since I got it those years ago.
Primary: DSTV Explora
Secondary: HD-PVR P2
LNB: Twin LNB -> DSTV Switch
Video: PVR via HDMI to Samsung PS50B550 50" Plasma
Audio: PVR via coax SPDIF to Yamaha RX-V795a receiver
HD-PVR P2 -> RF-OUT to bedroom CRT w/ TV-Link

I think it's mostly about their security - completely isolated, no sharing with other devices at all, not even a crack in the door.

It's had its advantages - rights we probably wouldn't have got due to the extent they can protect the content compared.
But yes, it's stunted other growth options.
