I recorded Hell On Earth:The Fall of Syria on National Geographic 181 last night but the recording was cut off despite starting on time. I have a 5 minute buffer either way. What is the point of recording titles if we're not going to be able to watch the entire thing?

Thought it a bit strange that Movies Premiere (104) was showing a 1986 movie at 20:00 tonight, "Eliminators", per the on-screen info. Looking up the movie online it's actually from 2016.

There actually was a movie with the same title from 1986, as well as an "adult video", whatever that means , from 1990:

One would expect so on that channel, but are you sure it was the 2016 version?

@MC & all channels - back to the choice of year-dating of movies etc. for a moment - after further thought, I'm under the impression that the cinemas have always used the release year-date and so that is what the public are familiar with? And do video / DVD stores' suppliers not do the same?

I'll leave my contribution to the topic there, thanks for your considerations.

The actors listed in the on-screen info were from the 2016 version... pretty sure they just got the date wrong rather than screening an 80s movie on Movies Premiere . Perhaps they have some automated system which pulls this data off a movie database and it gets confused when there is more than one version/movie with the same name?

I'm thinking similarly, in my earlier example it looks like imdb.com made the error re the details but who knows.
I guess you'll find out for sure after watching, when the end of the on screen credits are seen.
