Default Explora. Buy now or wait

I am dying to replace my steam driven pace hd pvr but past experience suggests that new products are always released when still far away from perfection. Any suggestions as to whether I should wait a while for teething problems to be sorted? Also as I am a tech imbecile is it a case of just plugging in the new pvr or will I have a bunch of headaches?

There's a few threads in this section that discuss this, try reading a few and see if they can help make up your mind.

Just look around. This is a bigger bugfest than the original HD-PVR by the looks of it. No conflict resolution, corrupt recordings etc.

How MC can release a product in this state is beyond me. It should be considered criminal ( lesser acts are ) imho

I am sorry to throw a spanner in the works but I have now found one or two recordings that are corrupt - same senario as the others no info & recording becomes corrupt??
These are recordings set via the EPG! One was a series recording the other a once off
