Default HD PVR 2P installation - how do I know it works before calling MultiChoice?

Hi . I have a current sd pvr setup. Just got a 2p pvr today . I will do the installation tomorrow.
Only question..what will I have to do to get the hd smartcard activated. 1st get a new xview smartcard for sd pvr then call for activation? How do I. Know the installation works before calling mc..thanks

Not sure where you stay. If you can go via Randburg to get the card swapped out or an agency, take both decoders with you and let them activate it and swap the SC out. Make sure when they swap the smart card on the SDPVR that you can view your old recordings and make/view new recordings. If you get an agent not sure, ask for the Xtraview specialist. If you prefer to call in, make sure you do all this. Be prepared for an hour+ phone call.

With the 2P cabled up as the primary, on-bootup you should get the 'Press OK for TV Guide' blah-blah welcome screen. At that stage you can call MC to get the new decoder/SC activated, and then take your time to do the secondary decoder install. Your SD will probably need an XV-capable SC, which will require a visit to MC/agency. Once the secondary is in, it's quite a lengthy phone call to have XV set up.

Thanks for the help guys. Took both in to MC ( 5 min drive ) and waited about 30 mins to have both setup for XV. All sorted.
