So, a suggestion for the DSTV Now iOS App.

The 15 second fast forward / rewind buttons are missing during video playback.

Really wish I could change channels on the AndroidTV app without exiting the channel. Maybe a feature could be added whereby if you press the down button all the channels would be visible. Also, it would be nice to know what program is on when the channel is playing. You have to exit the channel to find out.

Is there a way that a mobile device, such as a laptop, can be connected to DSTV Now, but not have access to a subscribers profile and account details?

I do not want my children to have this access, but they want access to DSTV Now.

I think device registration & access uses a new password and not your DStv profile's password, but not sure so can someone confirm please.
(EDIT: May not help, all devices may be able to access the profile.)

Using DStv Now on a laptop may be more of a problem.


If inconclusive here, chat to a DStv Now specialist at the call centre - found them to be very competent. Please then still let us know.

Unfortunately you will not be able to stream or see any content - your account needs to be authenticated in order for DStv Now to display. There is a kids section that you can give them access to, which then limits them streaming all channels and watching all Catch Up content. Depending on how old they are.

I understand that my a/c needs to be authenticated.

Thinking about it, I see that what I am asking for is a second level of password protection after the a/c authentication.

What is there in the profile/account info accessible from DStv Now that you worry about ? Just had a look on my desktop and couldn't see anything 'dangerous'
