Default Advice connecting Explora to internet

Good Morning

we are in the process of accepting a wireless modem internet package, I plan on connecting the modem to my explora so that we can set downloads from the on line catch up movies etc.

Can this be done with a modem not supplied from MC? If yes, how do I go about this and is there any extra cost if I am already on the premium package?

Hi Draco,

You can connect any modem/router to you Explora using a standard LAN cable as long as the modem.router has a LAN cable socket. MC does not manufacture/supply any modems/routers - they only sell range extenders which you do not require if the modem/router is close enough to the Explora to be reached by cable.

There is no extra charge for using the online services either but you need to need to active them on your Explora via Settings/User Preferences/Connected Services.

You can also test that the connection is working via Settings/Help/Tools.

The resources used when downloading content will affect your internet 'Data-Cap'.

Hi Homealone

I also heard that from someone yesterday that connected the explora to the internet, apparently the ads eat up data extremely before you can even try and download movies.

Apologies - I just meant there are no extra charges from MC side. There will be data charges if you do not have uncapped Internet and you exceed your monthly quota.
