Default Movie stops half way through on DSTv NOW

Watched the movie "Strange Days" on DSTv NOW on Monday, 9 October 2017. The NOW Website shows the movie as having a running time of 1 hour 10 minutes. At the end of watching for 1 hr 10 mins, the movie stopped but I realised from the storyline that the movie should not have ended there. I then checked the movie on IMDb which lists "Strange Days" as having a running time of 2 hours 25 mins. i.e. the DSTv NOW website has only loaded approximately half of the movie. I did report this via the CU call centre and was advised that the problem needed to be escalated to the relevant dept. and to check the movie online in 48 hours. However, 6 days later, the movie is still reflecting a running time of only 1 hr 10 mins.

@Mods, here's a clue that can maybe help - more odd is that the same movie on Explora CU+ is "correctly" listed as being 140 min. long (2 hrs. 20 min.), but its SD file size is only 1.03 GB which strongly suggests it is actually also only half the length.

Hi ShazzieO

Just checked on the DStv Now website - and the movie 'Strange Days' is listed as 18 SNVL | 139 min. I have escalated to the CU team to look into as the playout doesn't seem complete when I checked it.

That's what I said , but if you look at the playing time below the video, it says 1:10. If you hover over the last portion in the progress bat, you can clearly see that the movie is still in progress. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words

In my experience customers sometimes get upset at this kind of response, it looks like what they typed wasn't fully read or believed.
I'm sure that's not the case, but too often that can be the perception when helpers (or those assisting them behind the scenes) don't think the company can make such mistakes

I think the same thing probably happened in my Carte Blanche thread.

To be honest, I'm now quite keen to watch this movie once the problem has been rectified. Would've missed it if it wasn't for the OP

I've seen it - recommended.

Now downloading the CU+ SD version to confirm the wider problem, will edit in the results.

EDIT: The Explora's downloaded file's synopsis says 140 minutes (2 hours 20 minutes), but once past the initial couple of minutes of stuff it's only 1 hour 10 minutes long.

BTW, it's a terrible synopsis explaining nearly nothing about the story.
Not MC's fault, in this case that's more or less the international synopsis - perhaps the worst I've seen

Here's a better description, but it progressively becomes more of a spoiler so I cut it short;

Storyline

Set in the year 1999 during the last days of the old millennium, the movie tells the story of Lenny Nero, an ex-cop who now deals with data-discs containing recorded memories and emotions. One day he receives a disc which contains the memories of a murderer...

Hi All

The response was incomplete, apologies . I have checked the movie and escalated to the CU team to look into and correct.
@Optimist, kindly note that I have requested the M-Net team to advise as there was in fact a broadcast glitch with Carte Blanche. An update will be posted soonest in your Carte Blanche thread.
