Only if you decide to opt for another decoder in the mix, and provided all the decoders are either Exploras and/or HD decoders.

All those with older decoders combined under XV are stuck with 2 and the existing costs.
All those with an Explora plus an older decoder remain the same. BUT if you now opt for 3 decoders, you will have to dump the older decoder first.

A step in the right direction, thank you.

Disappointed though, that we still cannot share content between decoders in an XV setup. How I wish I could watch content recorded on my Explora upstairs via my Explora in my lounge downstairs without the cost of expensive HDMI splitters, cabling and what-not...

Based on the information already available on this forum, it should not be too difficult for the reasonably savvy DIYer to determine appropriate connection diagrams for the 3 decoders.

Already discussed earlier in the thread, not yet.

It will need a bit more, how the heartbeat and various settings need to work now as well.

Not too complicated to work out as Andries has indicated.

With a SLNB, run 3 LNB cables from 3 Unicable ports to the LNB inputs on the decoders, regardless of where they are.

Only one Explora is set up as the Primary, and the other two are linked to it under XV.

IF the HB is provided via the LNB cabling, then there are no issues except we need clarity now on if Diplexers are required or not.

If no diplexer is required then the cabling job is done and no special settings would be required either.

If a diplexer is required behind each decoder, then potentially, the issue is just about the settings and which RF port to choose on each decoder.

The issues start when one has to deal with how RF distribution can be used and what is required to combine 3 RF signals properly before distribution to remote viewing environments via RF.

Settings:

All one would have to ensure is that the decoders only use one remote mode each.

I think MC Field Services said diplexers are always needed, unless that changes now.

Someone will have to experiment if heartbeat will still work without the smart LNB. Sounds like it should with the 24-1Z Explora switch but for the 5-2 switch then unicable cannot be used for all three decoders so how does it work if it needs to also or only be RF connections.
Also wonder if two heartbeat signals can be on the same RF connection. Maybe it is only one heartbeat recognised by both secondary decoders.

In my case I think the connection will be like this: Explora RF IN, PVR 1 RF OUT; PVR 1 RF IN, PVR 2 RF OUT

Remember the 3 View is only for Exploras and the HD decoder. Your other two PVRs are still on their own

Nope the guys with 5-2 switches are up the creek without a paddle I think.

The 24-1Z switch will work without any major hassles.
