There will however still be some hardy fellows who pitch up in club kit Scary!

OFFSIDE OFFSIDE Burnley were robbed. Unfortunately that's about all I saw of the game as I was mostly watching the Proteas / Sri Lanka cricket match.

But at the end of the day, as I'm always being told, "look at the scoreboard". That's all that matters in the long run. Hope you had a good day's outing Sandtonman.

Thanks BB, Yes. We had a terrific day out; got match tickets with Emirates air-miles, so saved almost 200 quid! Good seats (North Bank, corner, upper tier) with terrific view of second half action.

It is exceptionally cold in the South, not gone above zero for some days, so dressed up with 4 layers including long-sleeved thermal vest and long johns! also thick woollen socks and boots. I kid you not, but all very necessary!

Match was extremely exciting and yes Burnley played exactly as I expected. I guess we were a bit lucky with the penalty but had another valid call denied; so it usually balances out.

Huge pressure on Sanchez and he took it calmly. 60,000 cheers (minus the away section) -- deafening

Will be interesting to see if Wenger gets punished for the gentle push on the 4th ref.

Went for an excellent meal in Chinatown after the game. Very festive as streets are decorated for the Chinese New year (rooster) on Saturday.
Cheers, K.

Well this is getting to be pretty embarrassing? Am I still expected to go for the Liverpool win when we play our future games? Well done Southampton.

Is it just my imagination but is it becoming tougher to win games in the EPL? Yes, I know that Liverpool have been struggling recently against teams that we are expected to beat and have in fact been losing to them. Burnley, Southampton, Bournemouth just to mention a few. But last night lowly Hull played very well to beat manchester united. (Not having a go at united supporters here). Over the season, although I cannot remember the results, there have been a couple of other upsets along with the odd hammerings. But lots of times the sides from the lower reaches of the league have put up very good performances and perhaps been a shade unlucky to not come away with a point or two.

Geez but am I glad that nobody, apart from myself, posts here anymore. No Flynn, Totto and, to a lesser degree, Sandtonman. Can just imagine the abuse I'd have to take after yet another shocking performance by my team Liverpool. This time losing to Wolves in the FA Cup. We've not won a game for the past month or so and the only point we've picked up was a draw against manchester united. Guess that just goes to show how poor united are as well seeing as how everybody else is beating us but they couldn't.

After this weekend my take on the EPL:

• Chelsea ‘s biggest threat to the title is Chelsea
• Man City seem to have found some life back
• Arsenal are coached by the specialist in failure : Wenger (No comment)
• Spurs are beginning to fade…The same happened to them last year
• Liverpool are as good as DONE, DEAD AND BURRIED
• United should be fighting for the title with Chelsea, they drop too many silly points however it seems like playing POGBA deep worked. It allowed MIKI to occupy the No 10 position and gave MATA a place in the starting 11. MATA has to start considering the number of goals he scores even though he’s a bit of a defensive liability…POGBA should stay away from the no 10 position. MARTIAL should start ahead of RASHFORD…
• The relegation battle will be hectic!

Sandtonman thanks for leaving Sanchez on the bench for the first half of our game. What a blunder!! Especially when we heard that Giroud was playing in spite of having picked up an injury. Do you have any information as to WHY Sanchez was on the bench and not on the field? Cannot understand this decision and would like some clarity. Disciplinary reason?

Apparently he had been squabbling with is team mates and stormed out of training. So Wenger benched him. Cheers, K
