It may be that you were relying on coupling from the RF OUT port on the Explora to the RF in port and then into the RF IN port on the HD PVR.

This would have been pure luck if it worked at all.

What you could try would be to move the HB cable to the RF OUT port on the Explora (check that there are no issues with the settings for XV, such as having to change the HB port). Now you should definitely be able to see the Explora on a TV in the bedroom after making sure there are no issues with the choice of UHF channel used for the Explora.

You are not using tvLINKs so there is no issue with DC power for tvLINKs. BUT there may well be an issue with the splitter you are using to split the signal to the two rooms. What sort of splitter is it?
Spare decoders: SD PVR(3) PSU's, DSD 660, 1110, 1131, Explora 1.
Spare switches and LNBs: 1 x 5-1(repaired); 1 x 5-2.Numerous so called faulty LNBs that were easily repaired.
2 unmentionable FTA decoders
1.2m antenna, 8-way universal LNB, 2 x (2x6) MS, FSM permanently connected.
