Exclamation EPG Error on Channel 104

The Great Gilly Hopkins EPG were scheduled yesterday for 14:50 to !6:30. The 5th Wave from 16:30 to 18:25. My recording of the 5th Wave show 41 min of the Great Gilly Hopkins (should have been 3 min) and 84 min of The 5th wave which is incomplete because the Great Gilly Hopkins did not end on the scheduled time resulting in the incomplete recording of The 5th Wave. I have rescheduled the recording for Saturday and hope that the EPG schedule will be corrected by then. I can see why there are complaints regarding Quality Control of EPG Schedules. PVR Recordings rely on accurate EPG Schedules!

Well it look like MC is not interested in sorting this problem. Will I end up with another incomplete recording tomorrow? The total length of the movie is 112 minute and my recording was only 84 minutes due to the overrun of The Great Gill Hopkins. Will the Mods please respond.

Hello

Apologies for not responding sooner. I have investigated the incident. The start time for The Fifth Wave was updated on the 9th of January from 15:53 to 16:30. I assume you set the recording before this date. Unfortunately, all decoders older than the Explora 'lock in' the start and end times of manual recordings the moment you set them. So when the time was updated, you decoder does not update the time of the recording (the Explora has smart event tracking to follow EPG updates, unfortunately, older decoders did not have this feature).

We do ask channels to minimise schedule updates as much as they can, unfortunately, this is not always possible. Generally final broadcast times are only confirmed the day before broadcast (and by Friday afternoon for the weekend and Monday), so where possible try to set manual recordings as late as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Your recording for Saturday should be fine as there were no time changes made to the movie for that day.
