Default Explora + HD PVR 2P Extraview Setup

Ok, I have my Explora set up as primary, 2P is setup as secondary. Both PVR's are viewable in both locations. But, how do I controle them? When I had 2P's it was easy. Both used same remotes and transmitted remote codes via pvr's. Any clever people out there who can help?

I imagine it will work the same way, but that you'll need both types of remote in both environments if you want to control everything everywhere without relying on line of sight. The user guide should confirm?

Later when the A6 remote is available (about a month's time) you'll be able to teach it 2P control.

This is where we are all in a steep learning curve, those of us that understand the older decoders are at your mercy, re INPUT.

How are they connected together? which ports are used and what are the HB configs on the Explora?

I presume that the older remotes do not "control" the Explora and vice versa?

So now the question is can the older decoder relay Explora commands?
I presume the normal rule applies, one decoder must be set for "TV1" and the other for "TV2"?
Are you using TVLINKs?
If so do the older TVLINKs relay the Explora commands or not?

I have this setup working (well still busy fine-tuning) but I can tell you that under Systems Settings there is an option Remote control. Under that is an option Legacy Remotes which (it says) will make the Explora ignore commands received from legacy remotes.

I assume you would need an A3 and an A5

Maybe MC can confirm if the A6 can be used for multiple decoders.

The A5 does seem to have a TV1/2 option but I don't think it's compatible with the older decoders

Elsewhere we were told that the A6 will be programmable.

and vice versa?

can the A5 "control" the older decoders? The A6 almost certainly could be taught to control the older decoders.

Does this imply that even if the explora is set to "TV1" or the equivalent, will "TV1" still be an accepatble setting for the older decoders?
