The UK have taken the eco factor very seriously indeed; hence all electrical appliances have a label showing an overall energy rating, as well as other useful factors, as can be seen.

This is particularly important for devices such as refrigerators which, although thermostatically controlled, are always switched on.

In addition to the label, some shops show an estimated cost per year, to run.
