Unhappy XtraView problem - HD PVR 4T and HD PVR 2P

Primary PVR 2P
Dual LNB
Comm In
off
off
Transmitting HB

Secondary PVR 4T Pace
Quad LNB
Comm out
off
off
Comm status blank

No TV link

Work very well, until 4T had to be replaced after "power cycle" problem. 3.5 weeks to replace !! XV link broken before replacement.

4T will not get HB from Primary. Even linked both units to quad LNB with 1M HB cable to eliminate "interferences".

Compliments to call centre (Gift) for assistance, patients and all options we tried.

Desperate !!

The issue is the HD PVR is apparently not receiving HB signals.

Has nothing to do with antenna connections and the fact that you ahve 2 sep antennas.

Either:

(1) the HB cable is faulty
(2) There is a problem with HB reception on the 4T
(3) Your service has not been authenticated properly after you broke the XV connection --- This is the most likely cause BTW.

You have a new decoder with a new SC? then it is because the 2 cards have not been correctly paired together when XV was re-activated.

New decoder but old card from previous decoder?

Still an issue with service authentication.

If you are able to get to an MC office ( NOT and agent) I would take both decoders to them and get them to work.

Thanks Geoff D.
New (replaced) decoder , old card
HB cable replaced (1M) when connecting to same LNB to eliminate this possibility.
Only MC agent nearby. What option available to rectify over-the-air ?

Took both units to MC agent. They claim that the replacement unit is faulty!
Now to get a refund for the replacement cost or wait another 4 weeks ?
Probably time to get rid of the clunky old T4.

Does not say much for MCs quality control and they way they treat customers.

Thanks to all the info from forum members, especially Geoff D.

Geoff D,
You were correct - as usual !
Purchased a new 2P - less than 5 minutes to activate.

Wish MC's service could get to same level, without taking R342.00 for supplying a piece of rubbish.
