Arrow General technical assistance for installation, decoder usage and errors

Please don't post in this thread, it is intended for info only and the postcount needs to be low so that all see this without having to change pages. Thanks

The main purpose of this thread is to advise DIY enthusiasts of needed info, but it also offers some helpful assistance for all other users of the services.

Please don't get confused by the info in the older threads listed here, some of the info is outdated - they are merely meant to assist with general installation concepts.
Future efforts will be made to also include updated info.

Thanks to MC (MultiChoice) for helping to make this available. Many of the threads involved are from them.
Forumite contributions are unofficial but have been prepared with research and care in the spirit of communal assistance. Many have contributed to this over the years, I'm just compiling the info now.

DIY (Do It Yourself) is not too hard for many but it requires reasonable understanding, dedication to the task and patience.
There are a variety of reasons why one might consider DIY, if so please post your detailed needs and questions in a new thread for assistance.
Otherwise it is normally recommended that MultiChoice-accredited installers be used, an official list is available here: https://selfservice.dstv.com/Install.../findInstaller

Common things like xtraview, userband, explora etc.
There are local-search tags. Anyone logged in can add a few to them, click on "Edit Tags" at the bottom right.
But from what I know about how that further works with Google etc. it would probably need admin / webmaster intervention...
I think Google will have picked up enough originally though, I found this thread quite easily when searching there.

@Everyone;
Further help ideas are always of value and I'm sure appreciated by all but,
1. This thread's future is under discussion with MC so needs to be left as is for now.
2. Please remove your posts - must keep the post count permanently low please else this will become a multi-page thread which can cause some to miss the info. Maybe make a discussion thread if you want.

Question Two TV sets one Explora

Good day all, and Happy New Year!
Is it possible/advisable to connect two television sets to one Explora? One via HDMI and one via AV. The AV-connected TV would be within 3m of the Explora, and would, effectively just be a repeater for whatever the HDMI-connected TV is set to.

Just bumping this thread back into clear view, sorry for the nuisance.

Please do not post questions etc. in this thread which is meant to be for info only (that and other considerations is explained in my last post above).

Also, a link to info about the new 4137 HD Decoder 5s has been added.

(This thread may not be updated again anytime soon.)
