OPTIMIST, I don't normally look at the Box Office thread because I don't make use of it but I did do so today. About a year ago you posted something regarding the Revenant and wanted to know what others thought of it. I'm sure that by now you've seen it? My view is that it was good without being brilliant. Could have been shortened as it tended to be a bit slow and repetitive and this caused me to start wishing it would "move along" as not much really seemed to be happening. Would I recommend it? Ermmmmmm. I suppose so but I would say that it's not for the big bang, shoot them up, explosions, special effects kind of cinema goers.

Others opinions?

I know that this should normally be posted under the General heading but this film has long since come and gone.

A very human story BB, with great acting. As always it depends on what one is into, I thought it was excellent but wasn't then in the mood for such a slow movie. Too much to watch these days :-/

What's our favourite movie over the last few months? Maybe there's a few gems that some of us have missed.

There's been many IMO so I can't even remember some of them let alone decide, but will go with Jason Bourne.

Last one I saw at the cinema was Hacksaw Ridge which was very good and was based on fact. Never knew anything about it until I actually saw the movie. Still to come to our tv screens so I'll not add anything regarding the storyline except to say it's a war movie and that it is pretty graphic in how it shows the combat scenes.

I have a question regarding "the net" but will have to hold back on that till after others have had a chance of viewing the film. Recommended.

Cannot recall any other movie that has stood out recently although those trilogy of Norwegian(?) films shown on three consecutive Sunday nights were also very good.

Yep, saw Hacksaw Ridge on BO, very good, and agree re the Danish "trilogy".

And that's it? Surely others among the zillions of lounge readers have a comment to add??

I almost never watch movies so I'm useless as a contributor - I stick mainly to series with a few exceptions (like Star Wars, James Bond, Lord of the Rings and some animation).

Here's one I've just seen that even you might watch Krugie

The Family Fang - One of the most unusual new story ideas that I've seen in a long time, a bit slow to get going but with enough material to keep it interesting. We found it really good, I think it would appeal to most.

It's on Explora CU.

Suppose I'm in the minority here but last night I watched Jason Bourne and although it wasn't bad wouldn't go so far as to say it was a great movie. Not one I'd rush out to buy on dvd to add to my collection. Again yet another movie that had to rely on long car/motor bike chases and numerous shoot outs. I'm not against violence and car chases as such but really prefer a movie with a bit more of a storyline.

Sorry, Optimist, and I know that it's not to be taken seriously and is escapist type of entertainment, but I wouldn't rate this movie above a 6/10. Maybe at a push a 7.

Last movie I watched was Cars 3. Was a relatively enjoyable, cute movie...which my kids enjoyed a lot, so it's all good.

Apparently I have to take them to watch Despicable M3 soon. Quite looking forward to that actually...MINIONS!!!
